BBQ season is officially over, and most of us are left missing those long summer evenings, eating burgers in the garden.
Dining outdoors undoubtedly brings people together and is something that should be enjoyed all year round. But while we’re somewhere in-between summer BBQs and winter market grub, what’s the best way to get outdoors, eat and have fun?
This week has been National Curry Week, (Oct 12th-18th) and in celebration I have been cooking up Tiger Tiger’s delicious Tikka Masala. However, while I love that hot, hearty food in back on the menu, I’d still rather be eating it outside.
Luckily there’s one thing that we, as a nation, relish no matter what the season… a bonfire. Dancing around it in shorts may be out, but feasting on great food and enjoying the crisp evenings is definitely in.
So for my evening of eating food around a fire, all I needed to do was rustle up a bonfire, and a fiery curry to accompany. If you don’t have time to cook a curry from scratch, then these sachets from Tiger Tiger are certainly a good substitute and take the stress out of feeding the gang! In favour of the Christmas market food effect (however premature) I simply served up the curry and basmati rice in cardboard boxes, with poppadoms, a fork and napkin. Boom.
Now all that’s left to do is wrap up, chat and enjoy the sizzle of the fire as well as the sizzle of the curry! So remember, if you enjoy dining outdoors, even throughout autumn and winter, then all you need to add is a little extra heat!
P.S. Zenna the boxer says thank you Tiger Tiger for her new stripy friend!
